conservation – environmental protection (ochrona przyrody); person - conservationist starvation - the state of suffering and death caused by having no food to starve - to suffer or die because you do not have enough food to eat; to make sb suffer or die in this way starving – extremely hungry
bridge of a ship iceberg - an extremely large mass of ice floating in the sea sink - to damage a boat or ship so that it goes below the surface of the sea, etc. (tonąć) icy - very cold lifeboat - a special boat that is sent out to rescue people who are in danger at sea (łódź, szalupa ratunkowa) knot - a unit for measuring the speed of boats and aircraft; one nautical mile per hour (miara prędkości statku)
